3475.RussMy friend Russ, a Navy Doc, had orders to Hawaii and decided that he wanted, or felt compelled, to volunteer for duty in Afghanistan. These pictures are in approximately chronological order from training in April to last week. I post updates as I receive them, which has been quite regularly.
It is not just the pictures of his life in Afghanistan, but the diversity of his selections of subject matter from Mujahadeen to close-ups of Moring Glories. The captions are the ones provided by him and the photos are originals with light PhotoShop work, like removing the green window tint from the car he is riding in (windows have to be up) to lightening, so some details are more visible.
Check them out and perhaps remember the location and check back occasionally until I can post pictures of his safe return.
